Ideal Fasteners range of Self Drilling Fasteners always exceeded the now withdrawn Australian Standard AS3566.2-2002. Now in the absence of an Australian Standard, IDEAL Fasteners P/L and BlueScope Steel have adopted ISO9223 and AS4312 as the standards for selecting the correct Corrosion resistance properties for Self Drilling Roofing and Cladding screw at a given building site. These standards classify the corrosivity of any given environment in which a building may be situated. These are known as Corrosivity categories. (as noted in the latest BlueScope TB16 with reference to the recommended fastener type).
